There's a reason Klamath Falls is called Oregon’s City of Sunshine. It gets a whopping 300 days of sun per year. Sounds like plenty of time to get out and explore. There's Cascade Mountains to the west … sounds like you'll need a rugged road-warrior of a vehicle for them. One that overcame frontal barrier, side barrier and side pole crash testing to earn the highest possible safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 did it, no Warm Summer Mediterranean sweat -- and for a fourth year in a row.

Grand Cherokee's advanced multistage driver and front-passenger, side-curtain and supplemental front-seat side air bags, complete with a driver-side inflatable knee bolster, gave the SUV such chops to be sure, but its Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system, dubbed by Jeep "Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Crash Mitigation," takes center stage as safety's paragon.

Jeep's AEB utilizes sensor-fusion technology, complete with a camera and radar working together, to deploy in the event it senses a potential for front impact, which kicks Grand Cherokee's brakes into action in tandem with warnings both audible and visual. These encourage driver reaction, and should they fail, brakes again activate briefly, delivering further tactile feedback. Grand Cherokee’s brakes apply as a final failsafe if the second doesn't work, either to slow the SUV, optimally limiting the collision's effects, or to bring it to a halt at a speed below 25 mph.

With 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, Limited and Trailhawk trims from which to choose, each with 4x4 capability, Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Klamath Falls, as Jeep and the NHTSA with it, has your safety in mind as you head out into 2017's adventures.
