When you go after one of the many Jeep brand vehicles, you might expect to sacrifice some fuel efficiency in order to get the excellent control and off-road capabilities associated with the brand. Fortunately, the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4x4 keeps you from making a huge sacrifice.

The new Cherokee comes with a redesigned all-wheel drive system that the engineers built with fuel efficiency on their minds. Getting between 20 and 25 combined mpg, the Cherokee still gives you the durability and off-road capabilities you'd expect from the crossover, but you don't have to spend a fortune on gas for your adventures.

The all-wheel drive system gives you many options of modes you'd like to drive in. The "snow" setting helps drivers get through at least a half-inch of snow without any issues. Other all-wheel drive modes are easily chosen by the SelecTerrain control knob.

While we want you to use the new Cherokee for all the adventures that await off the beaten path, we're also pretty encouraged by the way the nine-speed automatic transmission keeps fuel efficiency very high while driving on the highway, giving you a smooth ride during commutes or between your off-road travels.
