Employees at the Chrysler Group's Toledo Assembly Complex in Ohio recently had quite the accomplishment to celebrate. As the one millionth new Jeep model rolled off the production line on May 17, 2013, loud cheers ensued. The 10th Anniversary Edition of the 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon was born, marking a major milestone for the automaker.
Muro Pino, the Chrysler Group vice president, comments on the importance of this event and says, "Every Jeep Wrangler sold to customers around the world is born in Toledo, Ohio. Since this facility opened eight years ago, the Toledo workforce has built every one of those million vehicles with pride, passion and a focus on quality. We all look forward to building the next million."1
Joining Pino to drive the special edition black painted Rubicon for the first time was Dan Henneman, United Auto Worker's Jeep Unit chairman, Local 12. Known by many as a symbol of America, the Jeep Wrangler model continues to allow drivers in the greater Klamath Falls, OR area and beyond to blaze new trails. With the addition of features like its steel winch-capable bumpers with removable end caps, off road-tires, extra ground clearance and enhanced rock rails, this model is ready to tackle any kind of terrain.
