How Often Should I Change My Windshield Wiper Blades?

Windshield wipers have been around since the first windshield was installed on a motorized vehicle. Horse-drawn wagons were too slow to demand a windshield, let alone a windshield wiper. Windshield wipers evolved from brushes to swipers to the windshield wipers we use today.

Car and wiper manufacturers recommend that you change your wiper blades every 6-months to a year. However, the necessity of wiper changes depends on the conditions under which you drive. If you are in an area that sees a lot of snow and ice, your wipers will freeze to the windshield whenever your vehicle is at rest. When you start your wipers, no matter how long you wait for them to thaw, there will be damage to the wiper blade. In that situation, you will need to change your wipers more often.

At our service center at Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Klamath Falls in Klamath Falls, OR we check your wipers for damage and recommend replacement at need.
